Kapid—the Hiligaynon word for “twins”. It draws inspiration from the local belief in the idea that a person can be born alongside an animal twin or spiritual counterpart. For the artist, this physical reunion mirrors a personal journey toward wholeness—a process of embracing not only the parts of ourselves we cherish, but also those we keep hidden.
Banga is an educator at Jaro 1 Elementary School and has illustrated children’s books under the Department of Education (DepEd).
