Janine Tolores' 'Headless Christ" is an enigmatic painting that invites us to grapple with themes of sacrifice, redemption, and the ineffable. The headlessness of Christ, is not just an anatomical omission, it is also a metaphor for the paradoxical union of absence and presence—the divine made palpable through negation.
𝘼𝙗𝙤𝙪𝙩 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙚𝙭𝙝𝙞𝙗𝙞𝙩:
The exhibition aims to examine the diverse ways in which Christ has influenced and continues to influence cultural landscapes. Artists addressed prompts that explore historical and contemporary representations of Christ, the influence on specific cultural practices (particularly Filipino traditions), interpretations of hope, compassion, social justice, and personal perspectives on the life and teachings of Christ.
