Hamúok is the Hiligaynon word for "deep slumber". Roland Llarena, meticulously visualizes his waking reality – a world saturated with news of war, environmental destruction, and collective anxieties.

Roland Llarena is a painter and sculptor based in Molo, Iloilo City. He studied architecture, which was evident in his earlier works. He was awarded a special citationduring the 2018 Metrobank Art and Design Excellence Award. He also participated in the Linangan Art Residency in 2021. Llarena has had several exhibitions in Iloilo and Manila.
